A RACE FOR THE REST OF US

RACE OVERVIEW

UPDATE (In-person option canceled for September 18, 2022):

We have an update about the in-person option for our event, A Race for the Rest of Us. Due to unknown conditions of the Cedar Creek Fire, our in-person race option at Oakshire Brewing on September 18 is canceled. However, you can still participate on your own time, report your results, and send us your photos to lcampbell@lcog.org so we can share them on our website and social media pages.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who signed up for our 3rd Annual “Race for the Rest of Us” fundraising event! Canceling the live event is unfortunate, but safety is important. While we will not be able to run together this year, 100% of your event registration will still go to fund meals for seniors in Lane County! So thank you - you truly make a difference!

I can’t wait to see your pictures and I look forward to running with you next year!”

- Brenda Wilson, Executive Director, Lane Council of Governments

Packet pick-up will be at Lane Council of Governments, 5th floor of the Park Place Building, located at 859 Willamette Street, Suite 500, Eugene, OR 97401. You can pick up your bags at the reception desk starting Friday, September 16. The lobby is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-5:00 p.m. Your packet includes a T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and a pretentious bragging sticker to show off your race completion and your support for Senior Meals!

For tracking your distance and time, you can use whatever app or system that works best for you. All we need is the finish time. To report your finish time, go to https://runsignup.com/Race/OR/Eugene/ARacefortheRestofUsSDS and follow the prompts. You can also see everyone’s results there.

Again, thank you so much for supporting our Senior Meals Program. We couldn’t serve our community in this way without you.

A “race” for a good cause - to raise money for the Lane Council of Governments Senior Meals Program, which provides food to Lane County seniors who might otherwise go hungry. The distance is a whopping 0.5k – nope, that is not a typo! That is half kilometer, or about one third of a mile, or about 546 yards, or about 1640 feet, or about twice as far as the average good golfer can hit a golf ball off of a tee – you get the idea.
