Get Ready to Run and Parade!

Kick off your Fourth of July celebration with the Hillsboro Fourth of July 5K and Kids Dash! Join us on Saturday, July 4, 2026, for a festive run or walk along the official Hillsboro Fourth of July Parade route before the parade begins.

Hosted by the Hillsboro Rotary Club, this fun, family-friendly event welcomes runners, walkers, and kids of all ages. Whether you're chasing a personal record, enjoying a morning walk with friends, or cheering on your little ones in the free Kids Dash, there's something for everyone.

After crossing the finish line, stick around and enjoy one of Hillsboro's favorite Independence Day traditions as the community gathers for the annual Fourth of July Parade.

Best of all, your participation supports scholarships for local high school students pursuing higher education, helping invest in the next generation of community leaders. Celebrate Independence Day, support local students, and be part of a Hillsboro tradition!

Race Information & FAQ's

Q: Where are the start and finish lines?

A: 5K Race: Start and finish at Hillsboro Civic Center

Kids Dash: Start at Walters Cultural Center, finish at Hillsboro Civic Center

Q: When and where is packet pick-up?

A: Packet Pick-up begins on Friday, July 3rd. Packet pickup is for 5K participants only. Kids Dash participants do not need to pick up a race packet.

Friday, July 3rd, 3pm-7pm at Noble Hop
Saturday, July 4th (Race Day) at Hillsboro Civic Center starting at 7am

Q: Can a friend pick up my packet?

A: Yes! They will just need to have your confirmation email.

Q: Where do I park on race day?

A: Multiple parking options are available for race day:

Recommended: Hillsboro Park & Ride
Limited parking at Hillsboro Civic Center
Neighborhood street parking

Public Transit Option: Use Tri-Met, with the Hatfield Government Max stop located just 1 block away.

Q: What time does each run start?

A: 5K Run: 8:00 AM

Kids Dash: 9:00 AM

Q: Is there somewhere I can leave my stuff during the race?

A: A secure Gear Check will be available at the Hillsboro Civic Center near the start/finish line.

Q: Will there be an oncourse water station?

A: Yes, water will be provided at mile marker 1.5.

Q: Will there be bathrooms available?

A: Yes, there will be portable restrooms located at the Hillsboro Civic Center.

Q: Who gets a finisher medal?

A: All 5K participants receive a 5K finisher medal, and Kids Dash participants get their own special Kids Dash medal!

Q: Are there shirts this year?

A: Not this year.

Q: Are walkers welcome?

A: Yes! Our 5K course is open for 1.5 hours!

Q: Are strollers allowed on the course?

A: Yes, please be cautious of other participants.

Q: Are dogs allowed on the course?

A: Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the course.

Q: What if I don't receive a finisher medal because they run out?

A: While we have ordered medals based on expected participation, if we happen to run out, we will place an additional order as quickly as possible. Once the new medals arrive, we will arrange a pickup opportunity during a Downtown Hillsboro Run Club Tuesday evening event. All affected participants will receive email communication with pickup details and instructions.
