Description
The Cedar Creek Beach Challenge starts and finishes right on the beach in Pacific City. An out and back course down the beach toward Bob Straub State Park, you are sure to be distracted by brown pelicans, eagles, seals and even whales in the shadow of the majestic Haystack Rock and beautiful Cape Kiwanda. Held as close to low tide as possible, the run is held on hard packed sand, but you many encounter pools of tidal water and uneven ground. After all, this is the BEACH! The Beach Challenge is a fund raiser for the local community’s child care center and is put on by an all volunteer Board and Staff. After your 5K run/walk, 10K or kids half mile race, stop in at the Pelican Pub & Brewery and show your bib number for a complementary brew or root beer. Run, Walk, have FUN!
