Description
Need to get out of the house in the winter but need a push? Feeling sick of your kids being cooped up inside and not able to expend their energy? Join me for the Family 5k with Healthy Girl Fitness!!
Winter is the hardest time to get outside and to get the exercise we all need to keep our spirits up. This year has been the toughest yet, and with kids home with their stressed out parents, we all need something to motivate us. Let’s start the new year with a new promise to ourselves to stay healthy and have fun with our families at the same time. The Family 5k is a 10 week program led by an RRCA & VDOT certified running coach and it’s meant for everyone aged 5 years old to 500 years old. At the end of the 10 weeks, I want to see you and your family accomplish a 5k together!
We will meet up every Tuesday from 3:30PM until 4:30PM at Vista Brook Park starting on January 5th and running up until March 9th. If you are a beginner, this is perfect for you! We’ll start with the basics and get you up to a 5k by the end of the 10 weeks. To make it fun for the kids, I will be incorporating games and other exercises into the training, including relay-style fun and coin flips and card games. The goal isn’t to run the entire time, but to simply stay active. It’s like recess and track club combined into one fun hour a week!
The cost of the program is $85 per family for the whole 10 weeks. If you would rather pay per class, the cost is $10 a class.
Can’t make it to the live, in person meet ups? Let me know and I can provide you the workouts and you can do them at home at your convenience.
We will run RAIN or SHINE! I will only postpone classes if the weather is deemed too dangerous, (ie I will NOT be teaching if there is ice on the ground.)
It will be my priority to follow Covid procedures, so I will make every attempt to keep everyone safely distanced. However, as parents, I will need your help and cooperation in order to keep your kiddos safe.
