Description

WHY??

This event is a fundraiser for Anisa's Place, Village for One's therapeutic home for female and female-identifying Human Trafficking Survivors ages 12-18. The primary motivation for us IS to Honor the life of our beautiful niece, Jamie who passed away in 2019. It is also an encouragement to motivate me to start sharing my own Healing Journey from Human Trafficking. Finally, it is a way for me to give other Survivor's on their own Healing Journey the Hope that Healing IS Possible. AND the STRENGTH that is revealed on the other side of the Hurt is F*cking Amazing!

WHO??

Anisa's Place, a new shelter from A Village for One, is a six-bedroom home to serve girls and young women caught up in sex trafficking, abuse, and exploitation. A Village for One is a Portland based not-for-profit organization developed to serve children who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation. An astounding number of youth in the Portland and surrounding areas have experienced this global crime against children.

Our aim is to bring the talents and gifts of our community together to create an opportunity to serve each child that has been impacted by sexual exploitation in our local community. The community unites to provide youth with a home, nourishment, education, holistic healing, mentorship, service, and opportunity to grow, believe, and become their greatest potential.

In 2015, A Village for One opened our first outpatient mental health clinic location in Clackamas County, Oregon, and most recently in 2018 we opened our second outpatient clinic in Marion County, Oregon. While working to provide trauma informed mental health services to this population of youth we are also raising funds to assist in the opening of our first therapeutic residence.
