Supporting Women's Access to Breast Health Care
Discover Pink promotes awareness of the importance of screening in the early detection of breast cancer while raising important dollars for Project Access Network’s breast health program, which connects the underserved in Marion and Polk Counties to needed breast health care.
Project Access Network (PAN) partners with area healthcare providers to connect to donated care those who have exhausted all of their options. PAN community health workers then help with overcoming barriers to accessing this care, such as language and transportation, ensuring that an average of 98% of patients attend their appointments. Between July 2021 and June 2022, Project Access Network helped 137 women in Marion & Polk Counties get their breast cancer screening and diagnostic services and assisted four of these women to receive treatment after they were diagnosed with breast cancer.
