Description
The local climate action group 350 Salem enthusiastically invites you to participate in the 2nd annual Salem Run For The Climate on August 3, 2019 at 9 am in Minto-Brown Island Park! This year we will have 5k and 10k routes which will both be timed. The goal of our run is to bring community members together around the cause of climate change in an entirely new setting, with the hope of creating a positive, family-friendly walk/run through which people can build community and have fun!
Funds from sponsors will go towards Marion-Polk Food Share Youth Farm, a program that teaches youth ages 13-18 farming and leadership skills through hands-on education on a 6 acre farm, and 350 Salem, for community education efforts to address climate change.
Our registration fee is $30 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The run will start at the covered shelter in Minto-Brown. Day-of registration will be cash only at the covered shelter and will take place 8:00-8:45am. Please arrive early to hear announcements, grab a snack, and check out our community groups tabling at the shelter. All participants will receive a free reusable goody bag and a wooden medal after the run.
