The History of The Orange Run
In 2011, one of ifm’s most dedicated employees, Lizanne Dathe, was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. After the shocking news settled, ifm colleagues gathered together determined to find a way to help Lizanne and her family, in their journey to fight Liz’s cancer.
With the full support of the management team, ifm employees decided to organize a charity event to raise funds to cover out-of-pocket expenses associated with treatments so that Lizanne could focus on her health. Thus, the “First Annual Orange Run in behalf of the Dathe Family” took place in March 2012. With the overwhelming support of ifm colleagues, families and friends, vendors and local businesses, the Orange Run was a tremendous success.
Lizanne lost her battle with cancer on April 26, 2014 but ifm’s goal to support families fighting cancer continues.
