Thank you for joining us for the First Annual Orvil Rogers 5K, sponsored by Criswell College. As we celebrate the 50thanniversary of our beloved institution we also take part in a host of new traditions that will cultivate even greatercommunity engagement.
The Student Government Association just finished its inaugural session of Government, and we are all proud of the work that Vice President Abel Hagos and the Runnin’ Man Task force put into the establishment of this great event! Some time ago when we envisioned what it would be like for Criswell College to host a 5K we had big goals. You are an integral part in this events success and its purpose. Part of the proceeds will go to our work as aStudent Government, but a large part will be given to an organization that does great work in fostering a better community for us all.
The Student Government Association of Criswell College was founded in the fall of 2019, with a distinct vision and purpose of representing student interest at Criswell College and cultivating student engagement in our community. This 5K was one of the first goals of my administration and when we learned of the College’s interest in incorporatingsuch an event, we knew it could happen. We hope to establish a lasting tradition that starts with Criswell College, but truly is a community effort. Mr. Rogers left a great legacy of community and heath, a legacy we aim to foster here in the heart of Dallas!
