The BOATHOUSE Mile
High School Boys and Girls (9th-12th grade in the 2023-2024 school year)

Description
Come join GCXC Racing as we welcome runners, walkers, kids, dogs and participants of all ages and abilities to our inaugural GCXC Boathouse Mile. This event is designed to be fun for the whole family. Runners will take to the road for 1 fast mile on out and back from the historic North Park Boathouse.
There will be multiple heats of this 1 mile race in the following categories (pick the event you would like to run):
Races will begin at 9:00 am and run approximately every 12-15 minutes. Specific race order will be announced closer to race day. GCXC reserves the right to combine events based on registration numbers.
- Open Men (all ages welcome)
- Open Women (all ages welcome)
- Open Team Challenge (teams of 4, men, women or coed)
- Masters Men and Women - 40+
- High School boys and girls (9th - 12th graders in 2023-2024 school year). Individual and Team challenge available.
- Youth 12 and under
- Doggie Dash - 1 Mile Run with your dog
- Stroller Strut - run or walk with your young kid in a stroller
- Just for the Walk of It - 1 Mile non competitive walk for everyone
Be sure to stick around afterwards and cool off with local running legend Tim Wu's Famous Shaved Ice!
OPEN TEAM CHALLENGE
High school kids are not the only ones who like team competition. The grown ups like to show off too. Let's see whose "team is the best" .
Grab your local club friends, your social run buddies or who ever you like and "CREATE A TEAM" for the Open Team Challenge.
Teams MUST consist of 4 members and there will be 3 categories (see below).
- All male
- All female
- Coed - 2 guys and 2 girls
- Teams will be scored by their average combined time from all 4 runners.
Teams will run in a teams only race and are therefore not eligible to win the open event, UNLESS YOU REGISTER FOR BOTH AND RUN TWICE.
Team pricing and registration details will be as follows:
- $70 for a team of 4
- Team captain pays the fee and creates the team name when they register
- The other 3 participants then sign up and select to be on the captains team (no cost)
- The other 3 participants pay the team captain offline - separate from Run Sign Up
HIGH SCHOOL TEAM CHALLENGE
While all the local high school runners are getting ready for cross country, we want to make sure they keep their competitive fire going. Therefore, let's have a team competition.
Teams MUST consist of 4 members (9th - 12th grade in the 2023-2024 school year) and there will be 3 categories (see below). Team members can be from the same school but can also be a group of 4 friends who want to make a team.
- All male
- All female
- Coed - 2 guys and 2 girls
Teams will be scored by their average combined time from all 4 runners.
Team runners are also eligible for individual top 3 results in the high school race as well.
Team pricing and registration details will be as follows:
- $70 for a team of 4
- Team captain pays the fee and creates the team name when they register
- The other 3 participants then sign up and select to be on the captains team (no cost)
- The other 3 participants pay the team captain offline - separate from Run Sign Up
RACE SWAG
All participants will receive a commemorative Boathouse Mile Medal.
- Commemorative short sleeve T-shirts available for purchase for $15.

Awards will be as follows in each of the events below.
- Open Men - top 3 overall
- Open Women - top 3 overall
- Open Team Challenge - top 3 teams. Men. Women. Coed.
- Masters Men and Women - top 3 men and women
- High School Boys and Girls - top 3 boys and girls
- High School team Challenge - top 3 teams. Boys. Girls. Coed.
- Youth Boys and Girls - top 3 boys and girls
- Doggie Dash - top 3 male and female pooch parents (and treats for the pooches)
- Stroller Strut - top 3 male and female stroller pushers (and prizes for the kids who came along for the ride)
The Just for the Walk of It event is non competitive and designed to be fun for everyone.
