About the Walk
The Montgomery County Suicide Prevention Task Force is hosting a Walk to Prevent Suicide on Sunday, September 21 at Temple - Ambler Campus. Register today for this inspirational walk to support suicide awareness, education, and prevention. Bring your family and friends to join us in this important cause!
Children 10 years of age and younger are free, and children 11 years and up as well as adults need to register on this site. During registration, you can also create or join a team.
The walk is 1 mile with an optional extension. Parking is available in Lot 1 on Meetinghouse Road. Check-in on walk day begins across the street from parking at 8:30 am with the walk starting at 9:00 am. Refreshments, fun for kids, and mental health resources will be available as well as a giveaway item for registered walkers.

Montgomery County Suicide Prevention Task Force (SPTF)
Founded in 2015, the mission of the SPTF is to decrease suicides in Montgomery County by increasing suicide prevention awareness, education, training, outreach efforts, and reducing stigma. Through collaborative efforts with community agencies, service providers, and passionate advocates, the SPTF:
- Coordinates suicide prevention trainings and events like QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
- Collaborates with individual school districts, colleges, and the community to promote suicide awareness and prevention
- Connects the community with local and national resources
- Supports families and individuals from all backgrounds
