On Your Marc 5k Run/Walk

Please join us for our 3rd virtual "On Your Marc" 5k Run/Walk in memory of Staff Sgt. Marc J. Small and to support Small Steps in Speech.

About: "On Your Marc" 5k Run/Walk celebrates the life of SSG Marc J. Small, a Collegeville, PA (suburb of Philadelphia) resident killed in action in 2009 while serving as a Special Forces Medic in Afghanistan. The event benefits Small Steps in Speech, a nonprofit bearing Marc's last name, started by Marc's fiancee Amanda Charney-Berardi, which assists children with communicative disorders. 

When: July 31st - August 7th ("On Your Marc" is traditionally held the first weekend in August to celebrate Marc's birthday on August 4th). Run your 5k with family, friends, fur-babies, neighborhood run group, crossfit gym, and/or teammates any time between Sunday, July 31st & Sunday, August 7th.  That means you have one week to support a great cause and honor our hero!

How: If you're not familiar with the world of virtual racing, no worries! Find a nice 5k loop, out-back route, trail, treadmill, or grab your family and friends to run/walk a one-mile loop in your neighborhood three times. We suggest using Strava, Map My Run, RunKeeper, Nike + Run Club, or any other app you may use to track your fitness to accurately map out your route.  Record your race result by responding to an automated text (which will be sent out on August 1st) or by uploading your time at our race sign up page, under "Results". Where: This is a virtual race - so have fun, be creative, and enjoy completing the race wherever you are located.

Host "On Your Marc": This year, we are adding various in-person opportunities for communities, friends/families, run groups, etc to host and complete our Virtual "On Your Marc" in person. Click on the "Host On Your Marc" tab for more details and locations. 

Photos: No matter if you are running alone or in a group, please upload your race-day photos with your "On Your Marc" gear to the "On Your Marc" Facebook page, by clicking on the photo tab here to add, or send them to st.wherry@gmail.com. Tag your location so to build camaraderie with your fellow racers! 

Prizes: Top overall female and male times will receive a free entry into next year's "On Your Marc" 5k Run/Walk (race results will be announced by Aug 10th).

Registration:

• 3/1/22 - 4/30/22 = $30.00/registrant
• 5/1/22 -  6/30/22 = $35.00/registrant
• 7/1/22 - 8/7/22 = $40.00/registrant

*A processing fee incurs for each registration. However, you can register multiple friends, family members, or teammates under one registration!

Fundraising: The opportunity to impact a child's life in need of speech therapy services starts today! Give our children in need of speech therapy the opportunity to become who they want to be. Become an individual fundraiser or set up a fundraising team to reach a fundraising goal to impact a child's life. Click on the "Become a Fundraiser" dropdown under the main "Donate" tab.
