Capital Health Heroes Run/Walk Presented by MICEport

You can support Capital Health in response to COVID-19.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Capital Health is truly grateful for the outpouring of generosity from our community throughout the past several weeks with accepted donations of personal protective equipment (PPE), nourishment for our employees and needed items in the collective response to COVID-19. We understand that our community would like to donate resources addressing the emerging and critical needs that our patients and employees are facing in the wake of this pandemic. In response, Capital Health has established the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.

The COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund will provide financial support to the following defined areas:

• Financial assistance to Capital Health employees who are experiencing notable financial distress resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak with emergency childcare expenses, housing, or food.
• Provide Capital Health employees with education, support and resources to help address mental health needs during the pandemic (post-pandemic if deemed necessary).
• Expand telecommunication capabilities enabling COVID-19 positive patients to communicate with loved ones in the absence of visitor permissions.
• As needed, procurement of personal protective equipment for front-line health care personnel.

Philanthropy has, and will continue to play, a vital role in advancing Capital Health’s mission to improve and preserve health and well-being. We extended our heartfelt gratitude for your support and continued caring interest!

1)    Who can enter the race?

The short answer...EVERYONE. This is a perfect event to do with your family, friends, co-workers, classmates, or by yourself. You can live anywhere in the USA to participate.

2)    How do I sign up?

Just visit the sign-up tab above and enter in all necessary information for each registrant. You’ll have the opportunity to choose your t-shirt size.  Your medal and shirt will be sent directly to you.

3)    If I register my family, do we all have to do the same event? In other words, is it ok if some do the 5K, while others do the 1-mile?

You can all do different events! Mix it up any way you like.

4)    Are any awards being given for fastest times?

This is a virtual run and is just for fun (i.e., not a sanctioned race), but you’re more than welcome to enter your final time by visiting here. You can also download a printable certificate when you’re finished! You do not need to enter your time as proof, but it’s always fun to see how you did. It’s completely optional. You can do so after you’re finished by visiting the RESULTS tab of this race and entering your time, you will then be able to download your Finisher's Certificate.

5)    Does the race have to be done in one day?

You can do it all at once if you’d like, but you’re also able to do it in increments. For instance, if you registered for the 5k (3.2 miles), you could do a mile a day for three days. It’s completely up to you!

6)    When will I receive my t-shirt and medal?

Merchandise will begin to be mailed out on the week of Monday, June 20, 2020 but please allow 3-5 days for USPS to deliver.  Anytime after June 20, we will endeavor to send out your merchandise within 7 days. Please note that all sales are final. We cannot offer exchanges or refunds.

7)    Do I have to wait to receive my merchandise to do the event?

No, not at all. The race takes place from June 12th – July 3rd. If your gear hasn’t arrived yet, you can still do the event, though we’d love to see you in your race day swag, so please send pics and hashtag us at: #capitalhealthheroesrun

8)    How do I download the race day bib and certificate of completion?

We have enabled Pre-Race Bibs, you will be able to access your Bib by navigating to Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Manage Registration. From this page you will be able to share or print your Pre-Race bib using the icons above the bib 

9)  I’d like to do the race, but don’t need a t-shirt and/or medal – is it possible not to have it shipped to me?
