Serving Other Souls (S.O.S.), a non-profit organization comprised of students from 7th-12th grade, present the 12th annual Miles of Smiles 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk.
Due to the unprecedented fluid changes due to COVID-19, the Board of Directors of Serving Other Souls Inc. (SOS), decided that the 2020 Miles of Smiles 5K and 1 Mile Walk, previously scheduled for Monday, May 25 and rescheduled for Monday, Sept 7, 2020 will now be conducted as a VIRTUAL EVENT ONLY due to COVID-19 restrictions on the size of event populations. Participants will sign up and pay for either the 5K run, 1-Mile Walk, or Bike Ride, and conduct the event either together at various locations on the morning of Labor Day 2020, or anytime during the weekend of Labor Day (Sept 5-7, 2020).
Over the last 11 years, the Miles of Smiles 5K net proceeds have benefited the families of Sunny Carney (5 times), Lorri Nixon (2 times), Kristin Croyle, Bruce Linhart, Susan Pinal, the Miracle League of Western PA, Sal DeFilippo, Heidi Scriven, Stephen Johnston (passed away in March 2019), Robin Wareham (2 times) (passed away in , Christine Laliberte, Monica Pilyih, Kenneth Millett, and Chris Chamberlain, Brian Stroup (2 times), Brent Brewster, Aubrey Hussey, Brice Beaver, Robert Ellson, Dave Shott, and Maggie Watson.

37 yr old wife and mother of 2 fighting breast cancer
In order to minimize the risk of COVID 19 to our staff and volunteers, and eliminate the need for an in-person packet pick up, this year we will be shipping all shirts directly to participants. After registering, all participants will receive a link, in their confirmation email, to reserve a race shirt in the size you wish. NOTE: You will not select your shirt during the regular registration process.
You will select your size and enter your shipping information on the website link in the confirmation email. Serving Other Souls will be purchasing all the shirts and we simply ask you to cover the cost of having it shipped directly to you. Orders must be placed before 11:59 PM Sunday, August 16th to ensure that the race shirt is shipped to your home in time to wear at the virtual race event which is anytime Labor Day weekend (Sept 5 - 7th). Any shirt ordered from Aug 17 through Sept 7 will still be responsible for paying for shipping, but shirts will not be sent until after Sept 7.
