Easter Egg Hunt 5k

On Saturday, March 24th at 11:00am, Langcliffe Presbyterian Church is hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt 5k for the community.  This year we'll once again offer a 3.1 mile course and a 1 mile fun run/walk.  The 5k course takes you around Avoca, collecting Easter eggs along the course.  At the end of the race, open the eggs to see how much time gets taken off of your finish!  There will be prizes for different categories and a pasta lunch afterwards (beginning at 12) that is open to the public.  Our goal is to raise funds for the Avoca Fire Department (www.avocafire.net) and Ruth's Place (www.ruthsplace.com), a women's shelter in Wilkes-Barre; all proceeds will go to these organizations.  

Registration is $20 until March 10th, when it increases to $25.  Registration on the day of the race is also available for $30.  Registration includes a T-shirt and a pasta lunch!  If you or your friends and family would like to come just for lunch, tickets are available for $5  We are also looking for volunteers and race sponsors!  Contact Alex Becker at (570)457-4477 or pastor@langcliffeavoca.church for more information.

Packet Pickup & Registration: This will start at 9:30am on March 24th and conclude at 10:45am.  

Location: Avoca Boro Building (950 Main St) across the street from Langcliffe Presbyterian Church.  *The pasta dinner will be at the church (1001 Main St)*

Course: The 5k course is challenging and includes a couple of hills early in the race.  The 1 mile course is mostly flat.  This year the course does not cross over main st.

Awards: The first overall male and female runners (unmodified times) will be awards, as well as the first male and female finishers (modified times) in the following age categories:

• 19 & Under
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60 & Over
