IMPORTANT UPDATE (5/5/2020):  We want everyone to be safe and healthy during this unprecedented time, yet still have fun.  Given the likelihood that Beaver County will still be under a stay at home/social distancing order on May 30th, instead of cancelling or postponing, we have made the decision to go VIRTUAL!  Participants are able to run the route of their choosing and still support the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department.  The proceeds from the race help us to purchase necessary firefighting equipment needed for our volunteers to protect not only the town of Beaver, but also our surrounding communities.  This now includes a focus on personal protective equipment needed to protect our volunteers and community during fire/service calls.

Commemorative t-shirts and awards will be available for pick up at the Fire Station at a later time. We will communicate with participants once a date/time is determined. We will mail or hand deliver items to those who are not able to visit us on the designated pick up day.

How it works:

  • Run a 5k, 10K, or both (depending on registration) anytime, anywhere between now and Saturday, May 30, 2020. 
  • All participants are encouraged to share selfies and videos as they complete their races.  Submit here by Sunday, May 31, 2020.
  • Awards for Top Overall and Age Group winners
  • Tech Shirts for all participants
  • All paces are welcome to join and report results

Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply run the distance on your own, and report your results.  We'll keep you updated along the way.

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled/modified, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you for our milestone 20th Annual event in the Spring of 2021.  

This is the default if a selection is not made by May 30, 2020.

We understand. Please allow at least a week for us to process your refund.  We hope you can join us for our milestone 20th Annual event in the Spring of 2021.

Refunds must be requested no later than midnight on May 30, 2020, otherwise your selection will default to "You can keep my registration fee"

Description

 

The Beaver Volunteer Fire Department 5K/10K Race is the longest continual and most attended organized race in Beaver County.

One visit to the Borough of Beaver and you’ll see why! Our scenic town boasts broad, tree-lined streets, thriving downtown, and lots of public parks. Beaver is on the National Register of Historic Places and it is named as a “Tree City USA”.

A long stretch of the race course overlooks the majestic Ohio River. Beaver Volunteer Fire Department has been proud to co-sponsor with Heritage Valley Health Systems for the past 19 years.

Saturday, May 30, 2020 @ 8:00 AM EDT

The annual race/walk is Beaver County’s premier race event and uses a scenic route through the historic neighborhoods of Beaver PA.

Intersections are manned by police, fire fighters, and community volunteers to avoid problems between cars and race participants. For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted.

The 10K race will begin promptly at 8:00am, followed by the 5K race at 9:00am.

 

Registration and Packet Pick-Up

Friday May 29th 2020 (3:00pm – 7:00pm)

Race Day (6:30-8:45am; 10K registration will close at 7:45am)

Walkers

All walkers will be timed as part of the 5K race. No separate awards for walkers, but times will be included in 5K race and will be eligible for 5K age group awards. 

 

Rain Checks & Refunds

In the event of dangerous weather, the race may be delayed, but will be held that day. No refunds issued for any reason.
