Our organization formed more than 20 years ago to recognize the heroes among us that have sacrificed personally for the good of their country and community. Our mission has never changed and the generous support we have received never waivered.
Today we face a new challenge and new heroes are rising to meet this adversity at great personal cost to themselves, their families, and their livelihoods. The nature of this challenge is new for us, and the heroes are new, but recognizing those in the community that sacrifice for the benefit of their neighbors is something very familiar to us.
These are difficult and trying times. We do not welcome these circumstances, but we take comfort in the fact that we are facing them with the brave and good-natured people of our community. This is not a challenge we sought or asked for, but it is one in which we will prevail, together as a community.
With this in mind, we are aggressively marshalling our existing resources and acting, within the scope of our mission, to provide support to the community that has always been there to support us. An investment in the American people and the local community has never failed to pay off and we take comfort in this as we aggressively deploy our resources to support the emerging individual, small business, first responder, and community heroes in our community that are sacrificing so greatly for us all.
We act, knowing the path will be difficult, but with deep faith and comfort in the fact that we will ultimately prevail together, as a community, as we always have, as we always will.
We are canceling our race scheduled for May 16th 2020 and are not soliciting any financial support in 2020. In the coming weeks we will be scheduling an event for later this year, when we can join together with other organizations and individuals to celebrate who we are as a community and what we have accomplished together.
Please stay tuned, be well, and continue to do your part in overcoming this adversity we face together.
