Now is a time filled with much uncertainty, but one thing is for sure, physical activity is good for both the body and the mind. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important and can be helpful in reducing stress and anxiety. Let's dedicate 30 minutes per day for 10 days over the next 2 weeks and do something good for ourselves. Whether it's a walk, hike or a run outdoors, or strength training or yoga in the comfort of your own home, it doesn't matter. Get moving safely & comfortably and feel the benefits of staying active during this trying time. With gyms and other fitness establishments closed and upcoming races being cancelled, motivation can start to lack, but if we make a commitment to ourselves and to each other, the odds of being successful in getting it done drastically increase. We're in this together. Let's stay positive and do what we can to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle in the meantime.
Here's how it works. After each 30 minute activity you complete, email a picture to neworunning@gmail.com of either a) your steps/activity total from your tracking device or b) yourself completing the activity. Once you have completed 10 total activities, you have successfully completed the Challenge, and Newo Run will award you a medal for your effort. It's that simple. We'll share some of the activities being completed throughout the Challenge on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/newo.run/) to keep up the support and motivation. Going one step further, if you post your activity to Facebook and/or Instagram, tag us @neworun and include the hashtag #keepcalmduringcoronachallenge, and you'll be entered into our drawing to receive a $25 gift card to Dick's and complimentary run coaching for 6 weeks. Each activity submitted will be entered into the drawing and a winner will be randomly selected at the end of the Challenge. The Challenge ends on March 30th. **Remember that when completing the Challenge to continue practicing social distancing. This is not meant to be done in groups or crowded areas. Instead, complete your activity solo or with your family.** Let's go Team Newo!
