RACE DAY REGISTRATION OPENS AT 7:30AM on campus at Arcadia University, Glenside, PA.
The Arcadia campus and the Cheltenham community will be the place to be on the morning of Sunday, October 11, 2015, as hundreds participate in the 9th Annual Legs Against Arms 5K race or walk and 1k Peace Parade with its companion Celebration of Peace program.
Arcadia University and Physicians for Social Responsibility are proud to bring this anti-violence celebration to Cheltenham this year.
The program for the day is as follows:
7:30am - Registration opens on Arcadia campus
9:00am - 5K Race and 1 Mile Walk start
9:30am - Celebration of Peace at Arcadia Commons Building Begins—Yoga, massage, exhibits and more open to the public
9:45am - Race Winners Announced
10:15am - Poster contest winners recognized
11:30am - Event Ends

CELEBRATION OF PEACE
FREE TO ALL COMERS whether you participate in Legs Against Arms or not!
Our event partners will provide interactive educational displays to provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the impact of violence in our community as part of a Celebration of PEACE that follows the exercising. PSR will highlight Project PEACE (Peaceful Endings through Authorities, Children and Educators)—a program of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office--that rests on the conflict resolution, peer mediation, anti-bullying and youth court education programs that PSR has served as “midwife” for in bringing to the Philadelphia area. We will also be celebrating children's vision of peace with our poster contest and with school displays. But peace involves more than children--we are inviting veterans, nurses, educators, doctors, yoga instructors, massage therapists, public health professionals and the families of those struck by violence to share their visions of peace with the larger community.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION OPENS AT 7:30AM on campus at Arcadia University, Glenside, PA.
As an outgrowth of our commitment to eliminate the public health epidemic of violence in the Philadelphia region, Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) is hosting the 9th Annual Legs Against Arms 5K Race/Walk/Roll along with a 1k Walk/Roll Peace Parade option, followed by a Celebration of Peace, an educational event, at Arcadia University on Sunday, October 11, 2015. With a focus on initiating a change in our social norms, specifically for those that celebrate violent behavior, Legs Against Arms IX will encourage youth and adults to come together to strengthen their legs, as they send a clear message opposing violence in all forms, while honoring loved ones lost to gun violence in our community. PSR is a not-for-profit 501c3 organization and your donations are tax deductible.
