Hawley Spring Run - A Race Against Suicide 5K Run/Walk

A non-profit event to benefit the Tyler Paul Whitman Memorial Scholarship and to promote awareness about suicide prevention.

Location:    Bingham Park, Hawley
Date:          Sunday, June 5th, 2022
Time:          Start: 1PM,  Reg: 11-12:30 in Gazebo
Cost:           Pre-Registration: $15, Day Of: $18, includes a free race t-shirt

Due to health and safety concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak, we are also offering a virtual 5K option. This means that you can run the distance any time between registering and June 6th. You will then email your time for the 5K distance and attach a photo of your Garmin, Strava, or other phone app with proof of your run and time (if you want). After all results are compiled, we will publish a list of 5K race results.

If you have any questions please call: (570) 689-3345, or email cwhitman@echoes.net.  Proceeds of this non-profit competitive 5K will be awarded to a graduating senior from Wallenpaupack Area High School.  The criteria includes a 250 word essay on suicide prevention and awareness.  More details available in the High School's guidance office.  A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the Northeast Suicide Prevention Initiative, a 501c non-profit.
