Description
Join us September 10th for our inaugural 5k race to support LionCare, Penn State College of Medicine’s student-run non-profit free clinic! This 5k walk/run is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for our free medical clinic in Harrisburg.
LionCare was founded in 2002, and since then has been dedicated to provide free health services to the uninsured and underinsured population of the greater Harrisburg region and to also provide an engaging educational experience for medical students. The 5K run/walk will take place on the 10th in Hershey, PA near the medical center and is open to all members of the community. LionCare's staff is made up of student and physician volunteers from the Penn State College of Medicine and Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. We offer a variety of clinics, from General Health to Cardiology to Dermatology, to meet the varied needs of the population. At these clinics we provide a range of services from general wellness checkups to acute care in addition to providing health education. To learn more, please visit lioncare.org
Proceeds from this event will go toward materials to run the LionCare clinic.
Entry Fee: $20 Pre-registered by September 1st ; $25 after & day of race (non-refundable)
Awards: Overall M & F; 1st, 2nd & 3rd for each age group: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-49, 50 and older
Course: Biking trial loop around East Campus along Hope Drive and W. Governor Avenue
