Bassetts Eat & Run 5K World Championship returns to the campus of Council Rock High School South, 2002 Rock Way, Holland, PA 18966

Sunday, July 16, 2023 (National Ice Cream Day)

Start and Finish near the track at Council Rock South

Run half of a 5K, eat a pint of ice cream, run the second half of a 5K

You will be timed, there are waves by flavor.

COURSE IS a paved path around the athletic fields at Council Rock South making it an extremely spectator friendly course, looping near the FEED ZONE near the start-finish line before returning to the feed zone, at the conclusion of the first 1.55 miles. After eating the same exact course will be repeated. First one back wins!

Only the first wave will be eligible for awards. If you can run a 5K under 30 minutes consider running in the first wave to earn age-group and overall awards (first wave will be vanilla only)

7:15am PACKET PICK-UP OPENS

8:30 AM ELITE WAVE - AGE GROUP AWARDS - VANILLA

9:00AM KIDS ICE CREAM SANDWICH 400M EAT & RUN (T-Shirts, Ice Cream Sandwich and Finisher Medal)

9:15AM WAVE #2 - VANILLA, CHOCOLATE. PEANUT BUTTER SWIRL or COOKIE & CREAM

Additional waves may be added as demand warrants

Why do we use only Vanilla in the Competitive Wave?

It's to be fair. Not all flavors "temp" or thaw at the same rate. Someone eating Peanutbutter Swirl may find solid, frozen masses at the same time and temp a vanilla eater is almost drinking a shake. If everyone has the same, generall liked flavor, the "temp" time for all participants is the same rate. Make sense now?
