COURSE INFORMATION:
Half Marathon Race:
The Half Marathon race is challenging with rolling hills accentuating the course. Start/finish at the Blair Regional YMCA. Must be 16 years old by race day to participate. We will have cones, signs and road marshals, however, it is your responsibility as a racer to familiarize yourself of the course. The markings will be in white with a “1/2”. Course is NOT closed to traffic so please be aware of your surroundings at all times. There will be a port-a-john on the course at about the 2 ½ mile/10 ½ mile markers.
Water stations will be available roughly every 2 miles. We will also provide gels at the mile 8 water station.
VERY IMPORTANT: You MUST be at the water station on Scotch Valley Road by the 10.2 mile mark within 2hrs. If you are not, you have the choice to either wait for the follow vehicle to take you back to the finish OR finish on your own which means you will need to obey all traffic signs and may not have the support of the last water station. Either way, you will NOT receive a finishing time.
10K Run:
You will start out in the same direction of the Half Marathon runners, however, you’ll turn around after the 3rd Mile. Follow the arrows, cones and road marshals to the Finish at the Blair Regional YMCA. Please look at the map to familiarize yourself of the course. There will be waters stations about every 2 miles.
5k Walk:
5k course will start out the same as the Half Marathon and 10K, however, you will turn around in the Hollidaysburg Ambulance parking lot. Once on Penn Street/Rte 36, please stay to the right of the cones and on the sidewalk the whole way until you get to the Hollidaysburg Post Office.
When turning left on Allegheny Street, please stay to the side at all times while on the course as the roads will not be totally closed to traffic. Please look before turning to make sure you do not cross in front of traffic or the 10k runners coming through.
RACE PACKET PICK-UP:
Race packets will be available for pick up Thursday, September 30 from 12pm-8:30pm and Friday, October 1 from 5am-7pm. Packets will also be available the day of race at the Blair Regional YMCA between 6:30-7:45am.
