The Jack Duffy 5K Power Run is back and offering the flexibility of in-person or virtual options! This third annual event is held to celebrate the life of Jack Duffy, a brilliant and kind young man, Hatboro-Horsham graduate, Dartmouth student, entrepreneur, and accomplished runner whose purpose was “to serve, help, and empower others.” Proceeds will benefit NAMI Montgomery County.
Both in-person and virtual events will take place on Sunday, August 15, with virtual submissions available from August 13 – 16. The in-person event will be held in Horsham, PA, starting and finishing at the Hatboro-Horsham High School Stadium and using the beautiful, paved Power Line Trail.
Online registration is open through August 13 (no on-site registration). On race day, check-in begins at 7:15 am and the race at 8:00 am. Awards will be available for both events.
A 2017 graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School, Jack was president of the National Honor Society and an accomplished runner on the Cross Country and Track teams. He earned a National Merit Letter of Commendation and was an AP Scholar with Distinction. After high school, Jack developed and founded three businesses with the goal "to serve, help, and empower others.” He studied at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire before taking time off to travel. Jack played chess from a young age and would take on any challengers. He also had a great love of the outdoors and wildlife and enjoyed hiking. He continues to be missed by his family and friends, who benefitted from his sharp intellect, kindness, and unique insight.
Event proceeds benefit NAMI Montgomery County PA to raise awareness for mental health and help fund their no-cost mental health education, support, and advocacy programming in our community.
Your support of NAMI makes a difference in the lives of individuals and families impacted by mental illness, which is more important now than ever.
