Freedom 5K Run/Walk hosted by IUP SVO

The Freedom 5K Run/Walk takes place along the beautifully scenic IUP College Lodge Trail and will be the IUP Student Veterans Organization's second 5K run/walk. The trail is set on the 270 wooded acres of IUP's CO-OP park. Registration prior to the event is $10 for veterans, $12 for civilians, and $15 for day of registration.  This fee will provide runners with a handmade Freedom 5K run tee shirt. Prizes will be provided for top 3 runners, although run is not meant for competition but for the enjoyment of community bonding and the outdoors. All proceeds from the race will be used to aid IUP's Student Veterans Organization in carrying out their group's service based initiatives. IUP SVO's 2018 funds went towards providing supplies for their campus wide recycling initiative, which involved aiding off campus greek life in recycling their aluminum and plastic waste and donations towards Team Rubicon's Hurricane relief efforts for veterans affected by natural disaster. If you are unable to run/walk, donations are excepted.
