6th Annual Step It Up 5k for Autism Speaks

The month of April is Autism awareness month and Delta Nu could use your support to “Light it Up Blue” throughout Indiana, Pa. We are holding our fourth annual, “Step It Up 5K”, at Blue Spruce Park on April 4th where members of the community and students from IUP will be running side by side to raise money towards Autism Speaks. ****** This is a "no frills" event *******

Day of registration begins at 11:00 am (day of registration is $30) RACE BEGINS AT NOON

Autism Speaks is the largest Autism science and advocacy organization, they are dedicated to funding research for the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for Autism, as well as increasing awareness of Autism and advocating for the needs of individuals with Autism and their families. The expenses of a child diagnosed with Autism can cost a family over $60,000 a year on average; Alpha Xi Delta’s goal is to help these families overcome obstacles they never thought would be possible.

Since partnering nationally with Autism Speaks in 2009, Alpha Xi Delta has raised over $5 million and counting towards research and awareness for children on the Autism Spectrum. Our chapter has held seven Football FrenXI events, eight Quarter Miles, one Jail N’ Bail event, four Step It Up 5K’s and helped Autism Speaks University’s fundraisers on campus raising over $50,000.
