Description
RACE IS CANCELLED . The Richard G. Snyder YMCA Campus is holding the Move to Make A Difference Race to raise funds for future trail projects to be completed by the M.A.D. Program. Our fast flat course is a favorite among top runners in the area. The 5K course offers families an opportunity to share in a physical activity that promotes healthy lifestyle choices.
The M.A.D. Program consist of Armstrong School District Students in grades 7th-12th. M.A.D. stands for Making A Difference. The students receive so many benefits from this program including exercise in a healthy and safe environment and development of important life skills such as budgeting, leadership, planning, communication, team work, and community involvement. This program keeps kids off the streets and out of trouble with drugs, violence, and delinquency. The kids have adopted a mile of the Armstrong Trail and regularly pick up litter, beautify the gazebo, and cut and clear brush. They are making a difference in our community, learning important life skills, and gaining a sense of belonging and empowerment all while having fun! The funds they raise from this race will allow them to continue to give back to the community.
