Description
Many people throughout history have used the moon to explain away any crazy decisions that they may have made. Runners typically don't need the moon to make those decisions. We consistently throw ourselves into situations that challenge and test us. But during the months of May and June we will be experiencing two super moons, with the biggest Super Moon occurring on May 26, 2021. Let the Moon be your guide and unleash your crazy runner brain! Give in to the Lunarcy!
Lunarcy comes in two different forms. There's a Lunarcy that lasts 12 hours and one that lasts 24 hours. In the 12 hour version of lunarcy we have seen both individuals and teams of two suffer from the affliction. In the 24 hour version we've seen it affect individuals, pairs and even groups of three.
So first you need to ask yourself, do you want to experience Lunarcy alone, with a partner, or in a team of 3.
Those who suffer from 12 hour Lunarcy will need to run/walk 5 miles every 3 hours. You cannot do all of the miles at once, and if you are a team of two you cannot do back-to-back miles. 12 hour Lunartics cannot begin their runs later than 10pm (their local time) and can start no earlier than 7 pm. You can complete this outside, inside, in your driveway, or around the living room. Let the full moon guide you through this 20 mile accomplishment!!
Those two suffer from the 24 hour Lunarcy will need to run/walk 5.2 miles every 4 hours. You cannot do all of the miles at once, and if you are on a team of two or 3 you cannot do back-to-back mileage. 24 hour Lunartics, whether they be individual or team, can choose their start times. Just be sure that if you are on a team you coordinate when each person's block of time is to begin. You can complete this outside, inside, on your back deck or around the living room. Let the full moon be your guide!! Give in to the Lunarcy!!
