Dear Steel City Showdown Racers,

We understand your disappointment and are sorry that this year’s race will not occur as planned.

Refunds should be on their way soon. While we aren’t able to refund the processing fees charged by RunSignUp, we can help to offset this by offering a discount code for next year’s race.

We haven't given up on our Steel City community, and the wheels are already turning for next year's event. Our planning team will meet in October to begin work on the 2025 event.

Because we love this race, and want to bring it back to you, our Steel City community, we welcome any input or feedback to help us cast a bigger net and reach more potential racers next year. Please email your feedback to psuloon@yahoo.com.

We produced this race to have a local event in Pittsburgh that is an independent race, and although we have faced some hurdles, we are dedicated to bring Pittsburgh's only homegrown OCR again.

Description

The Steel City Showdown is an obstacle course race within Allegheny County. Henry Kauffman Family Recreation Park is 100+ acres of wooded property in the heart of Monroeville. The terrain of Western Pennsylvania will take you through hilly slopes, mixed deciduous forest, and dense thickets.

This course is designed for the beginner and the more advanced racers. Come conquer the course and make it you vs. you or come and play as a couple or a team of friends, family and/or coworkers for a team-building experience and some good laughs.

Event details and schedule

Steel City Showdown - Inspired by the Steel City Spartans

Adult (13+) heats begin at 8AM. The 8AM heats will give you the opportunity to run on a fresh never seen before course. It may even take you through a stream, past buildings of a time gone by, through television sets, etc.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION WILL BE ONSITE AND WAVE TIME TBD BASED ON PARTICIPATION

The course will be 3-5 miles through the fields and hilly forest of Henry Kauffman Family Recreation Park.

Please arrive 45 minutes prior to your Wave start time.

Free Parking is onsite.
