4th Annual Sole Harvest 5K Run/1 MIle Walk

Benefiting the Norristown Hospitality Center who serves the homeless and working poor of Montgomery County

We contribute to Norristown Pride with our hands and feet to serve those in need. Join us! The 4th Annual Sole Harvest 5K Run/Walk.

Registration is now open and don't forget, you can create a team. Running clubs, classmates, friends, coworkers and family are just a few people you can ask to run with  you. Teams can set their own fundraising goal to help the center meet their overall goal. Benefits of running in teams are: motivation/accountability, improved performance  and it helps create a sense of community! 

Individual runners and walkers can also raise funds as individuals. You should follow the same process of registering a team but instead of adding a team name, enter your name and  send the fundraising link to friends, family and coworkers so they can donate online.

Join the Norristown Running Club - NRC today to start training for this years race.  

Our vision is the same: to raise awareness and funds for the center who provides countless services to those experiencing homelessness in Montgomery County through a family fun, healthy, community oriented event. This fundraiser helps the center expand their services with zero government funding. 

Once you register, we will periodically send you emails about the race, the center, and the status of each team/individuals' fundraising efforts are going.

Race Day Donations: We will be collecting toiletries, new packs of men’s and women’s underwear, breakfast cereal, dry milk powder, styrofoam cups (8oz), non-dairy powdered creamer, coffee (ground, regular), women's feminine products, and 5lb bags of sugar! These are items the center provides daily to the clients. (Watch the client video below.) Let's stock the shelves of the center with these much needed items!

Unsigned Waivers: 18 individuals have not signed the online waivers. As a result, we will have waivers ready for you to sign at the pre-registration table. Only those with signed waivers can participate.

The 5K starts promptly at 9am. The walk will start shortly afterwards.

Location: Norristown Farm Park 400 North Whitehall Road, Norristown, PA 19401 (This is the Whitehall Road entrance to the park across from Norristown High entrance.)

Arrival Time: 

Day of registration opens at 8:00am

Pre-registered friends = 8-8:30am (or earlier)

Announcements start promptly at 8:45am

Raffle Reminder: There will be several baskets to bid on from back yard barbque to the chocolate lovers dream basket so stick around after the race to bid on your favorite one! Photos from last years baskets can be found on Facebook. All proceeds from the bids go to The Norristown Hospitality Center. 

T-Shirt As a Gift: We will have a limited number of T-Shirts for sale following the race. They make great gifts!

Parking: You can park just across the street from the park's entrance in the lot on and along Eagle Road. 

Breakfast: Chick-Fil-A will be serving breakfast after the race. 

Elmwood Park Zoo: Free entry to the zoo with your 2017 Sole Harvest 5K race bib after the race.

Bib News:

*You number goes on the front, NOT the back!!!

* If you have multiple members of a family participating, you must take special care to make sure you are not wearing some other family member's bib. Verify the name/age on your bib when you receive it and let someone know at pre-registration know if a correction is required. 

*If you have kids participating and/or are a first time runners, do NOT tear off your tag. 

Personal Items: Please DO NOT bring anything to the race you can not leave in your car or with another individual to be personally held while you are participating. The weather looks beautiful and none of this is possible without you. Please encourage your friends and family to participate and come out to see you. Thank you

Weather Forecast: This is a rain or shine fundraiser. As such, there are no refunds. The center appreciates your support. In the event of inclement weather, the race will be called by 8:45am.  Weather permitting, Elmwood Park Zoo has offered free entry into the zoo with your bib as the admission. We are praying there is no inclement weather.

First Time Runners: Congratulations! You've made it this far. We will cheer you on every step of the well. You've got Sole!

Let's reach more Soles: Continue to encourage your family and friends to participate or come to cheer you on. Although the online registration ended Wednesday night we are accepting day of race registrations right until the start of the Race/Walk.
