Donations:
All donations will go to support 6 year old Rilyn in her brave fight agains High-Risk Neuroblastoma which she has been battling since she was just 18 months old.
Cliff and Jamie Hughes have lived the unimaginable filled with words no parent should ever hear:
“Your child has cancer.”
“Your child’s cancer has returned.”
“Your child’s cancer is not responding to standard treatment options.”
Their youngest daughter, Rilyn, was diagnosed with High-Risk Neuroblastoma in April 2020 when she was only 18months old. Rilyn, who is now 6 years old, has endured more than most people will in their lifetime. Between her initial treatment and relapse, Rilyn has received over 40 cycles of various chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, a total of 44 sessions of radiation, and multiple surgeries and biopsies.
Over the years, their family has traveled to New York City, Philadelphia, and most recently, Houston for treatment and clinical trials.
Unfortunately, all treatment options have been exhausted, and aggressive surgery is the family’s last option before palliative care. On June 9th, Rilyn will undergo an orbital exenteration surgery at Children’s Hospital (Pittsburgh) in hopes to remove the tumor located in her orbital area. However, this surgery includes the loss of her eye and optic nerve. Even though this surgery may be successful, it is still devastating to this sweet 6-year-old girl who has so bravely fought this battle most of her young life. Please consider supporting this local family as they attempt to rebuild their new normal and support their daughter throughout this difficult transition.
