Michael ‘Chippi’ Cawley Memorial Race

Michael aka "Chip" Cawley lived a life full of passion and perseverance. Whether it was fishing at every river he came across, snowboarding with his buds, going on hikes, or riding on his quad, he lived true to himself. Curious about the world, Michael strived to learn about various interests. He never limited himself and always accomplished his dreams. Some of his many including excelling at his new job and buying a house. He saw people for who they were and treated everyone with kindness and humility. He loved all animals especially his boxer doggos. He was a caring son and enjoyed spending time with his parents Stacey & Brett. After recently being diagnosed with epilepsy, Michael passed away unexpectedly at work from a grand mal seizure on February 23, 2023.

Michael's unconditional love transcends this universe. His legacy will live on through us & with us. We are raising funds to make a difference in the lives of people living with epilepsy.  All donations will support three separate beneficiaries; Camp Freedom, Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, four Valley View High School "One Last Cast" scholarships, as well as the Adopt a Boxer Rescue.

Camp Freedom provides outdoor adventures for disabled Veterans and First Responders, their family members, and Gold Star families including quality hunting, shooting sports, fishing, hiking, biking, and other year-round outdoor activities.

What: 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk

When: Saturday, July 6th at 9:00 AM

Where: Blakely Borough Recreational Complex, 303 Riverside Dr., Peckville, PA 18452

Registration Fees: $20 for walkers, $25 for runners, $30 for day of registrants

T-Shirts: Unisex t-shirts for all participants

Day of Registration/Packet Pick-Up: 7:30 - 8:45 AM

Packet Pick Up: There will be a packet pick up for all pre-registered runners on Friday, July 5th from 2 to 7 PM at the Scranton Running Company, 3 West Olive St., Scranton, PA 18508.

Awards: The top overall male and female with receive awards as well as the top two males and females in the below age groups:

0-19

20-29

30-39

40-49

50-59

60-69

70+

The top overall walker will also receive an award.

There will also be raffles and prizes and free refreshments.
