Lisa's Army Pumpkins In the Park 5K Walk/Race and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk/Run

Lisa Loonstyn-Golden was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 20.  During her battle with the disease, Lisa was heartbroken to see many courageous individuals fighting the disease on their own.  She believed that no one should fight alone.  Lisa's compassion and courage inspired her family and friends to create Lisa's Army, an organization dedicated to comforting those battling cancer.

Lisa's favorite holiday was Halloween and she was affectionately called "Pumpkin".  In Lisa's memory, Lisa's Army holds The Pumpkins in the Park 5K Run/Walk every October to raise funds for our Comfort Care Packages.  The race brings together families and friends in their Halloween best to parade their costumes and enjoy the fall weather in Philadelphia's beautiful parks.  We have pumpkin decorating, costume contests, fundraising competitions, and a photo stand.  This year's race will take place at Memorial Hall on October 10, 2015.  Race Start time is 8:30 a.m.
