The Philly 10K Solo Summer

Welcome back to South Philly (sort of).

This year’s Philly 10K is going to be a little different, while still celebrating all that we love about our hometown and the local vibe of South Philly.

Introducing The Philly 10K Solo Summer, two “virtual events” featuring a single 10K run as well as an enhanced 3-day 30k challenge to help you get back a little bit of The Philly 10K in your life.

How It Works:

The Philly 10K 2020 takes place over Aug 28-30.  

The location is up to you!

Runners have two options:

The Philly 10K Classic
Complete a continuous 10K by the end of the weekend from anywhere. Receive a 10K shirt and a punch card for perks to our favorite partners (Free Philadelphia Brewing Company beer, Shake Shack custard, and $10 Philadelphia Runner credit). Runners will also get the option of a medal or poster commemorating the run.  

The South Philly Challenge
10K not enough for you?  For only $15 more, make it 30K (the equivalent distance of running every major street within the 10K course) over the 72 hours of race weekend and receive a shirt, upgraded version of the perk card, a medal AND commemorative poster.

Please note: Due to the fact that this is a virtual run that can happen basically anywhere, The Philly 10K Solo Summer will not be capped…

Information regarding shirt, perk card, medal, and poster distribution will follow registration confirmation.  Register by August 21 to ensure you get your premiums!

Packet Pick-up:

We will be holding packet pick-up beginning Friday, September 11th at Philadelphia Runner in University City. 

Pick-up times are:
Friday, September 11th 
Philadelphia Runner University City (3621 Walnut Street) from 12pm to 6pm

Saturday, September 12th 
Philadelphia Runner University City (3621 Walnut Street) from 12pm to 6pm

Wednesday, September 16th: 
Philadelphia Runner Manayunk (4358 Main Street) from 12pm to 6pm

Saturday, September 19th: 
Philadelphia Runner Glen Mills (505 Glen Eagle Square) from 10am to 1pm

If you paid for your 10K items to be shipped, they will go out beginning Thursday, September 10th. Please be patient as the USPS is under some strain - we will get these to you as soon as possible!

Social Justice Partner:

This year, the Philly 10k is partnering with local non-profit SEAMAAC.  A portion of your race registration fee will support SEAMAAC's hunger relief effort to combat food insecurity in South Philadelphia exacerbated by the pandemic. SEAMAAC's 3 principal hunger relief programs and brief descriptions can be found here.  Since the pandemic, SEAMAAC has conducted over 100,000 instances of hunger relief across all of their programs in the greater Philadelphia area.  The Philly 10k team and SEAMAAC thank you for your commitment in the fight against hunger.
