Training for the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon is in full swing. Jump-start your training with the annual Half Marathon Kick-off Training Run hosted by the Steel City Road Runners.
Date: Saturday, February 4, 2017
Location: UPMC Rooney Sports Complex - 3200 Water Street Pittsburgh
Distances: 3-5 and 7-10 mile loops will be available to accommodate all training plans. Various paces will be offered.
7:00AM - Check-in Begins
8:00AM - Bobby Curtis* (2nd fastest American Marathoner of 2016!)
8:15AM - Dynamic Warm-Up with Dr. Vonda Wright
8:30AM - Run Begins
*Top American Long Distance Runner, Bobby Curtis, presented by the USATF Foundation & GNC, will be onsite to help answer training questions & consult with runners.
Please note: bananas, Honey Stinger gels, NuGo Bars, water, Gatorade, vitamin chews & hydration packs will be provided post-run.
Please note, there is very limited parking at the UPMC Rooney Sports Performance complex. Additional parking can be found in any of the SouthSide Works surface parking lots or garages, with a short warm-up walk over to the facility. There will be signs and volunteers helping direct people. SouthSide Works parking information can be found here.
