Overview: Sweat Bar Fitness is holding our Summer run this year at Settlers Cabin Park on May 21st, 2023 for what is now infamously called the 6.6 Mile Trail Run through the beautiful woods of Settlers. The race will follow the Red course loop with the starting line at the Gilbert Love pavilion and the finish line next to the Algonquin pavilion (these pavilions are the first two to the right and to the left as you come into the park). Family and friends can gather in the seating area and surrounding fields of Algonquin to cheer you on as you come out of the trail into the ~100ft stretch to the finish line. The Red loop has a difficult level of "Moderate" with approximately 917-1252ft of elevation. Almost 100% of the course will be in the woods and shaded and a water station will be set up around the half way mark of the run.
Timing Services & Finisher Medals: Miles of Smiles timing service will be timing the event. Top 3 Finisher Medals will be awarded for Men and Women.
T-Shirts: All participants whom register before Wednesday May 1st will receive a Sweat Bar Fitness 6.6 Trail Run Shirt.
Event Day Activities: Both pavilions mentioned above have been rented by Sweat Bar Fitness and will be available for racers and their families.
Donations: Chad Shipley, owner of Sweat Bar Fitness, will send 100% of all donations to support his cousin Tiffany in the fight for her life. Tiffany is a wife and mother of two and has been battling cancer since her mid 30s. Her husband is active member of Sweat Bar and they both have shown up to help so many in the most beautiful of ways. Despite them not asking for help, they need it. Tiffany is very good at making the world feel as if she's ok but the truth is, she battles, struggles, and fights everyday for her life. Everyday is filled with more difficulty and pain than most of us can imagine. Donations to Tiffany will go a long way in helping a deserving family in need. We thank you very very much in advance for your consideration!
Participant Cutoff: Due to parking restrictions, we have to cap this event at 100 participants so make sure to confirm your reservation!
Can't Wait To See You! This is going to be a beautiful and great race that we hope you can make. Last year was our first race and many many runners told us that they LOVED it. It's a beautiful trail and will be a laid back and fun event. We look forward to seeing you there.
