Mother's Day 5K Race for Christina

The race began in May 2013 by Catherine Blanar in honor of her sister, Christina Cordaro. Catherine and Christina attended their first grassroots event benefiting FA research in Rhode Island in October 2012. Seeing the power of endless generosity and support in a local community, and the biggest smile left of Christina's face to connect with other FA families, gave Catherine motivation and inspiration to create an event of her own.

This year marks the 8th Annual Mother's Day 5K Race for Christina. After a two year pause due to the pandemic, the Cordaro, Blanar, and Logan families are excited to bring this wonderful tradition back! It is a great way to start off the holiday with your loved ones, while raising awareness of Friedreich's Ataxia in beautiful Tyler State Park!
