Rockin' In The New Year 5K Run/Walk

Get your glow gear on!!   This race will be held on Dec 31 at 5pm......Just after the work day....and right before the New Year Festivities begin.    We are "Rockin' In The New Year" in loving Memory of Jordan Adams.    Jordan loved music and his guitars.    The race will take place in his home town of St. Mary's, PA, beginning and ending at Memorial Park Pavilion. Proceeds from this race will go towards his memorial scholarship award.     Each participant will receive a "Rockin' in The New Year" guitar themed tee and glow necklace, as well as, each race finisher will receive, from Jordans mom at the finish,  a memorial guitar medal, .   This is a 5K run or walk with split time starts,  due to COVID-19.     Male Runners will start at 5pm.   Female Runners at 5:05pm.  Walkers at 5:10pm.    The fastest Male and Female, in both walk and run, will receive a guitar trophy.   There will be age divisions, and those results will be posted on our Facebook page later that evening, as well as the Elk County Striders News Letter.    Due to COVID-19, there will be no awards ceremony or race day registration.   We need a final head count by December 12, therefore registration will be closed and final, at Midnight this day.    We ask that there are no gatherings or spectators.   Masks must be worn per current COVID guidelines at race day, we will be updating based off the state guidelines as necessary.   All walkers MUST walk if you choose that division, and this is a family friendly event so all ages are welcome!!  Since this is a night run, we ask everyone to please wear reflective gear/glow items for safety.  There will be volunteers at street crossings for your safety as well.   There are no refunds, however if anything unforeseen happens with COVID-19,  and we need to cancel, race shirts and items will be given to each registrant regardless.      Timing will be provided by the Elk County Striders timing system.   We hope to make this an annual event !!!
