Saxonburg Truthahntrab 5k

Online registration is now closed BUT you can still race. Just register in person Friday night at packet pickup (530-630) at New Life Christian Ministries OR tomorrow prior to the race (730-845) at Roebling Park, Saxonburg.

Experience the charm of Saxonburg as we bring back our 5K with a new name and date - introducing the Truthahntrab 5K! Mark your calendars for 9am November 25th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Embrace the town's rich heritage. "Truthahntrab," meaning "Turkey Trot" in German, captures the essence of our Germanic roots dating back to 1832 when the town was settled by German immigrants.

You'll have the chance to earn unique turkey-themed race awards, participate in a raffle for products from local businesses and refuel with post-race snacks. (Anyone wearing a 'Knoch' or Saxonburg 5K shirt will be entered into an additional raffle to win a special award). This year we're excited to introduce a team division for the first time – a perfect opportunity to run/walk with family, friends, and co-workers while enjoying the picturesque countryside. 

The race will follow the traditional Festival of the Arts route, starting near Roebling Park and taking a scenic path through the former Saxony Farms' rolling pastures and lake, then head down Main Street before finishing at the park. The course is almost entirely paved with the exception of a short gravel area near the turnaround/lake. 

All proceeds will directly support the Knoch cross country and track and field programs. Your strides will not only carry you towards the finish line but will also pave the way for promising athletes to pursue their passions.

After the race, be sure to visit charming Main Street as we prepare to kickoff Small Business Saturday.

AWARDS

• Trophies for top 3 overall male and female
• Medals for top 3 in each age group
• Age groups are 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70&up
• A team champion and runner-up will each receive a trophy. (Teams score based on total time of top 3 runners; no gender requirements)

Online registration closes at noon on Friday 11/24. You may register in-person at packet pickup Friday evening (530-630pm) at New Life Christian Ministries 139 Knoch Rd, Saxonburg, PA 16056 OR the morning of the race starting at 7:30am. We will only accept EXACT cash, check or Venmo for in-person registrations. (No credit cards for in-person)

T-shirts are only guaranteed if you register before Sunday November 5th. After that shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until we run out.
