Our Story
During the early hours of December 13, 2017, a devastating house fire started at the Lukens family home in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania while the family was still sleeping.
Bryan Sr., who is an Iraq War veteran and sheriff's deputy; along with his wife Tracy made every effort to save their three children and the family pets. Tragically, their two son’s Bryan Jr. and Parker; as well as the family's dogs did not survive.
Both Bryan Jr. age 11, and Parker age 6, were actively involved in the Collegeville area community and youth sports. Their parents are well aware of the social benefits that are gained by the proactive and committed involvement in a family’s local community. Often times Bryan Sr. and Tracy would work multiple jobs to ensure their two son’s and their daughter could participate in local organizations and activities.
We all know families whose children have the passion and desire to participate in organized sports, but their families cannot afford the membership fees or equipment. Bryan and Tracy are extremely grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support received from the community during their tragedy and throughout their recovery. They were inspired to take action and give back to the community that embraced and supported them by alleviating the same or similar challenges that other members of the community face.
To accomplish this The Lukens Foundation was established as a non-profit organization in March of 2018 to honor the memory of Bryan Jr. and Parker.
