Fun Run

What a remarkable feat it is to overcome the looming uncertainty of cancer as a child. In the month of September, CareSTAT will honor the courageous children that have fought this dreadful disease with its 1st annual CareSTAT Fun Run 5k. We will lace up our running shoes on September 6 by Crowell Park in Springfield for this 3.1 mile venture. The run will raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help continue its lifelong mission to find a cure for cancer.

The course will feature a pair of hydration stations along a quaint suburban path. Runners will receive a t-shirt prior to the run for their support. The run, being held in conjunction with Springfield Community Day, will feature a live guest appearance from Andre Gardner of Philly’s Classic Rock, 102.9 WMGK. This event also is kid-friendly and will have a moonbounce and face painting station.

The CareSTAT Fun Run will honor a strong willed boy named Ben Brewer who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Ben underwent 15 weeks of treatment at Columbus Children’s Hospital and is now deemed disease free! This run will commemorate his fight to live as well as the fight that thousands of children all over the world are going through right now.
