Spend a week training with some of the best runners and coaches in Chester County at a variety of locations. We'll post those locations soon.. It's a great way to get ready for the start of your season.
To insure the safety of the group, if you have any symptoms of Covid 19 you may not come to camp. Please be honest and safe to make sure that all campers stay safe and healthy. We will be following the WCASD Return to Play Guidelines where they relate to XC Camp. Please read that document and watch the videos.
Parents will be responsible for that their children are not showing any symptoms of COVID 19. Please let us know if your son or daughter shows symptoms after camp begins. We will require that the athletes where a mask to camp, while we talk and after we finish running each day. They will not be expected to run in a mask.
Due to the current environment, we will require people to bring their own water bottle with them. Please do not share water bottles. We also won't be able to guarantee bathroom facilities at most locations. Please go before you arrive at camp.
We're going to have 2 camps going. We'll have a high school camp from 6:30AM-8:30AM. The times may change slightly depending on what group your runner is in. That camp will run from Monday, August 9-Friday, August 14.
We will also have an elementary and middle school camp that will run from 8:45-10:00AM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. . We will limit the this camp to those who are in 3rd grade and up.. They should be able to run at least a mile without stopping.
The Thursday of Camp will be the West Chester Mile held in the evening on Henderson's super fast track. Details will follow.
Each day schedule will feature a great run from the location. We will do a lot of trail running. You'll have the opportunity to run with some of the best high school runners in Chester County. Each runner will be assigned a group based on their current fitness level and ability. Before the run each day, Coaches Kelly and Burns will discuss various areas of cross country running and things you can do to improve. Our experienced counselors will add to the discussion. We will also have some outstanding speakers as usual.
Daily Camp Locations and time adjustments:
Monday-Exton Park-Parking in the gravel Church Farm Lane Parking lot.
Tuesday-Oakbourne Park-1014 South Concord Road, West Chester
Wednesday-Park/drop off at 770 Miles Road, West Chester(In the side lot by the old Acme-It's a new CHOP location).
Friday-Parkway Center-Pancake breakfast day at Timothy's: Meeting times: HS Group 1 and 2-6:30-Breakfast at 7:30, finished by 8. HS Group 3 and 4-Start at 6:45, breakfast at 7:50, finished by 8:15. HS Groups 5 and 6-Start at 7:10, breakfast at 8:10, finished by 8:30. MS/ES Groups-Meet at 7:30, breakfast at 8:30, finished by 8:50.
Saturday-HSers meet at West Goshen Park to warmup for the the Fernhill Mile: Group 1 meet at 6:30-Race at 7:15. Group 2 Meet at 6:35, race at 7:20, Group 3 meet at 6:40, race at 7:25, Group 4 meet at 6:50, race at 7:30, Group 5 meet at 6:55, race at 7:35, Group 6 meet at 7:00, race at 7:40. Cool down back to West Goshen Park.
