Ladd's Pub Run

When you put on and time events for a living, what better way to connect with friends and family than hosting a neighborhood 5K.  And because we like to have fun and do things a little differently, we offer up a collision of fun and fitness - the Chug 'n Run.  5 x 1K laps (.6 miles) with a beer [or seltzer] before each lap. It should go without saying that you must be 21+ to take part in the race.  Because this is a private event, please do not invite others without first checking with the Ladds.

The men (<50) tackle full 12oz beers and the senior guys (50+) and women only have to wrestle with 8oz cans or 7oz bottles.  Some people say it is the most fun they have ever had racing, others say it is the hardest fitness challenge they have ever tackled.  Either way, it is epic.  Running is the goal, walking is fine, but cutting through the neighbors yards is totally forbidden and being caught brings with it a year of social shaming.

New for 2024 - This event will serve as a fundraiser for the West Chester Area YMCA Marlins National Team.  That program is near and dear to our hearts so we will use this event to help the kids on the team with travel and meals as they compete in Greensboro, NC in April for winter nationals and Ocala, FL in August for long course summer nationals.

* This event is neither endorsed nor officially connected with the YMCA of GBW.  All donations are being collected by 2L Race Services and will be made as a lump corporate donation to the YMCA of GBW.  Alternatively, donations can be made to to the team PAC (Parents Advisory Committee) via Venmo to @Shweta-Neville [last four of phone # 2521].  Anyone making Venmo donations should include a note that this money is earmarked for the "National Team Beer Run Fundraiser."
