We hope that you all are staying safe and happy during these crazy times. We wanted to reach out with important race updates for the 2020 Wyoming Valley Run. The race board has made the difficult decision to cancel the in person event for 2020 and instead hold a virtual event in its place. First and foremost, your safety is our first priority. We also want the first annual event to be the best race experience possible and with the current conditions, we feel as though that will not be achieved. Our main goal for the virtual event is to raise money for the three local charities in which the race benefits; Candy's Place, Camp Freedom, and Northeast Sight Services. The virtual run information is below so please consider registering and/or donating to these amazing local charities who help so many of our own.
Race Distance: 10 miles
Race Dates: September 5th-7th
Race Cost: $25
Finisher Gift: Participation medal, with proof of result
Winner Prizes: Any 1 pair of Altra Running shoes to the top male and female
Age Group Prizes: Printable Certificates will be sent to the top male/female participants in the following age groups; 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over
Random Giveaways: We will select finishers at random to receive gift cards to local businesses. Prizes will be announced leading up to the event.
Photo Submission: Send us a photo of you running or after you finished with your results to be featured in the post race photo album!
Race Rules: Route must be flat or include some elevation gain. Results must be submitted with GPS data. Results will be based off run elapsed time.
Result Submission: Please send your GPS race results to firstname.lastname@example.org between September 5th-7th.
For those of you who have signed up and are interested in a refund, refund of the registration price difference, or to donate your registration, please reach out to Ben at email@example.com. We won't be accepting registration deferrals for this event. If you signed up for the original event, your registration will be automatically transferred into the virtual event.
