2nd Annual Color Us Panthers 5K Fun Run/Walk

Fun Run Start Time: 2:00 PM

**Children 4 and under are free but still need to register. They do not receive a swag bag with their registration, but when a parent registers they can purchase a t-shirt and extra items for them.

About the Fun Run: Join us in our Color Fun Run geared towards children that will emphasize a healthy lifestyle, fun and fitness in a 5k (3.1 mile), untimed,unofficial course that will be mapped out for you to walk/jog/run/dance through. Throughout the course participants will experience color throw zones where you will be doused in 100% non-toxic, completely biodegradable, made in the USA colored cornstarch. At the end of the race stick around after the race for a dance party and celebration of throwing your color packet up in the air. Make the run even more fun by dressing funky or in rainbow colors. 

• You are allowed to bring strollers, but please make sure to take the necessary precautions of keeping your young ones safe. Please be aware that your stroller may get colored in the process so, if that is a concern, we recommend using a stroller rain cover.
• As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes. We ask volunteers to throw color low on participants as they pass by. Participants may bring goggles, sunglasses or use the sunglasses provided in the swag bag. Keep in mind that this is a kid friendly event and the volume of color will be appropriate for fun, not overwhelming or scary. Also, participants sometimes bring bandanas or dust masks to protect their airways. No bandanas will be provided.
• We suggest participants bring old towels for the inside of their car
• We suggest wearing items you wouldn't mind getting colorful. Remove all excess powder by shaking out and dusting off before adding water. Wash you "Color Us Panthers 5K Fun Run/Walk" gear separately with COLD water. Oxiclean or a similar product will work wonders on your running gear. If you wash it, it will eventually come out. If you would like to preserve the color in your shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it (for further instructions, visit youtube.com)
• If you want to get pictures in the midst of the color we recommend covering cameras/phones with plastic wrap or a sandwich bag
• No Dogs (or pets of any kind) may participate in the Color Us Panthers 5K Fun Run/Walk
• There will be refreshments for purchase at the Fun Run
• The Color Us Panthers 5K Fun/Run/Walk is a rain or shine event. Sorry no refund for this event

Entertainment: DJ will be there pumping up the crowd with music. Pre-Race activities include inflatable rides and some small games. Post-Race activities include a color dance party where we celebrate the end of the race by throwing your individual color packet up in the air.

Proceeds: All profit from the 2nd AnnualColor Us Panthers 5K Fun Run/Walk are going to the Hayshire Elementary PTO general fund. The general fund provides classroom supplies, field trips, enrichment programs and yearbooks for students.
