Event Description
Join the York County SPCA for the inaugural Tails on the Trail 5K Presented By Ready & Able, a community-focused run/walk benefiting animals in need at WellSpan Park.This fun, family-friendly event brings together animal lovers, local businesses, and neighbors for a meaningful morning of movement, compassion, and impact.
Whether you’re running, walking, or strolling with your pup, every registration directly supports lifesaving care for vulnerable animals at the York County SPCA, including sheltering, medical treatment, and rehabilitation. Your participation helps ensure animals in our community receive the second chances they deserve.
Come out, get active, and make a difference because every step taken on the trail helps change a life. 🐶🐱💙
Event Schedule & Additional Race Details
Check-in will begin at 8:00 AM at WellSpan Park (York Revolution).
The race will kick-off at 9:00 AM and take place on a portion the Northern Extension of Heritage Rail Trail County Park with the starting line located at Keystone Kidspace. Participants will run straight to the end, just passing the bridge to the 4 mile marker, then loop back along the course toward the finish.
Awards and post-race festivities will be held back at WellSpan Park!

The inaugural Tails on the Trail 5K takes place on Saturday, April 4 at WellSpan Park. Registration opens at 8 AM, and the race begins at 9 AM.
Yes! This is a run/walk event, and participants of all paces are welcome.
Yes—friendly dogs are welcome on a non-retractable leash. Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations and comfortable around people and other dogs. A suggested $10 donation is encouraged (per dog).
Absolutely. Families and children are encouraged to participate. Children must be supervised at all times.
Registration includes event entry, access to race-day activities, and a Tails on the Trail 5K t-shirt for those who register on or before March 6.
No. Participants may register up until the day before the event.
All proceeds benefit the York County SPCA, supporting sheltering, medical care, and rehabilitation for vulnerable animals in our community.
Yes! Participants are encouraged to collect donations from friends and family to further support lifesaving programs.
The event will take place rain or shine, unless weather conditions become unsafe. Updates will be shared via email and on our social media pages.
