What's new for 2025/26
- New race location: We've outgrown the Spring Valley site and are moving to Susquehannock High School. There is plenty of parking and we're keeping the hills!
- Online volunteer registration: We love our volunteers and want to make the process easier. Check out the Volunteer Opportunities section for more information.
- Register to volunteer for one or more volunteer opportunities at the same time you register run.
- Register online as a volunteer any time that's convenient for you.

- Early bib pickup: As a thank you to everyone who comes out to one of our two early bib pickup opportiunities, each runner will receive a winter Series fleece headband (while supplies last). Check out the Early Bib Pickup section for more information.
Race Description
Want to run / walk some hills around York County this winter with 200 - 300 of your friends? If so, with nine race venues around York County, the York Road Runners Club Winter Series is for you! Each venue hosts a main event from 5k up to 10 miles, as well as a one mile run prior to the main event. You can run just the 1 miler, just the Main Event, or both. If you can do the distance, we'll make the time. Each main event will have a sweep runner who will stay with or behind the last runner until they finish.

How does the Winter Series work?
- Run 9 races and / or 9 one mile runs for one low registration fee.
- Participants are assigned a race bib (or bibs) and are responsible for bringing their bib(s) and wearing it for every race they attend.**
- Those opting to run the 1 mile AND the main event will be issued 2 bibs. You must wear the correct bib for each event in order for your time to be recorded for the event.
- Series points are awarded at each race based on your age group (age as of 11/16/2025) placement. (scroll down to see how points are assigned)
- Awards will be presented at the final race based on placement points earned throughout the series. The more races you run, the better your chances of placing!
- Main Event series award categories for males & females: 1‐13; 14‐19; 20‐24; 25‐29; 30‐34; 35‐39; 40‐44; 45‐49; 50‐54; 55‐59; 60‐64; 65‐69; 70-74, 75+
- 1 Mile Event series award categories for males & females: 1‐13; 14‐19; 20‐24; 25‐29; 30‐34; 35‐39; 40‐44; 45‐49; 50‐54; 55‐59; 60‐64; 65‐69; 70-74, 75+
- We have participation swag available at the final race for those who run / volunteer at a minimum of 5 races during the series.
- Plan to hang around for food, fun and the awards after the final race.
- We will have photographers, when they are available, (thank you Clay and Karen) and you may share those photos with your family.
- YRRC supports sustainability, please bring your refillable water bottles. All races over 4 miles will have a water station.
- No dogs or strollers allowed. This will be strictly enforced.
- Roads are NOT closed, please keep left and watch for oncoming traffic.
- Black Cat Timing chip finish for quicker and more accurate results!
- Restrooms are available at all events.
** THERE IS A $5 FEE FOR ALL LOST/FORGOTTEN BIBS.
RACE BIB(S) CAN BE PICKED UP AT THE FIRST EVENT YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND. BIBS WILL NOT BE MAILED.

Race Day registration is available using Venmo (YRRC) or a check payable to York Road Runners Club (please, no cash). Race day registration will take place from 11am until noon.
Volunteer Opportunities
Want to participte in the Winter Series but can't run due to injury? Are you coming to a race to support a friend or family member? Why not support the Winter Series by volunteering at one or more races? We would love to have you. Volunteering counts toward the 5 race minimum needed for participant swag at the end of the series.
The YRRC Winter Series needs volunteers to ensure the races run safely and smoothly. We need people to help with the following:
- Course Marshalls: ensure the safety of the runners on the course, for both the 1 mile and main event. Course marshalls for the 1 miler may also be able to run the main event based on their assigned location. Check with the race director for details.
- Water Station: provide support at the main event water stations. You'll hand out water, pick up discarded cups, and cheer on the runners.
- Registration / Bib Pickup: help pre-race to hand out bibs to pre-registered runners and register race day participants. In many cases, registration volunteers will be able to run the mile and /or main event.
- Parking: direct participants arriving at the race venue to parking locations.
- Finish Line / Merch Sales: direct runners to water and post-race treats, assist with pickup of pre-ordered merch, sell available merch post race. Volunteers will be able to run the mile.

Early Bib Pickup
Avoid the long bib pickup lines at Dover and Susquehannock! We will have 2 opportuinties for early bib pick up. All early bib pickup participants will receive a Winter Series fleece headband (while supplies last).
- Bib pick up and group run: Fleet Feet York, 1511 Mt Rose Ave, York, Saturday, November 8 from 9:00am until noon. Come run, pick up your bib(s), and hang out. Check out the events section of our Facebook group for more info on the group run.
- Bib pickup: Appalachian Running Company (AppRunCo), 1500 N George St, York, PA 17404, Saturday, November 15 from 9:00am until noon.
As always, if participants cannot make it to an early bib pickup, bibs are available for pick up at every race. Bibs will NOT be mailed.
Winter Series Store
The YRRC Winter Series Store is open for online ordering. Limited items/sizes may be available for purchase at race venues. Order online to ensure you get the item, size, and color you want! Items ordered online will be available after the completion of the one miler.
