Sign up today for the 2020 Jeff “Lance” Wentzel Memorial Race! Celebrate 6 years of our race with the new addition of a 10K route! This scenic race takes you through the 5 Star Trail and streets of Youngwood.
On March 22, 2014, Youngwood lost one of its finest, Jeffrey "Lance" Wentzel, in the line of duty as a Youngwood Volunteer Fireman while on a search and rescue with the departments K-9 team. Together with his family and the Youngwood Fire Department, this Run/Walk has been dedicated to the memory of Lance. In his honor, ALL proceeds from the race will be to the benefit of the Jeff "Lance" Wentzel Memorial Scholarship Fund. Over the last few years, the money generated by this event has provided financial scholarships to several students at WCCC pursuing degrees in Public Service.
We hope you will join us and support this exciting event. We are hoping to the make 2020 our most successful event yet! Bring your kids out for FREE kids fun run, ages 5 & under! Runners can choose between the 10K run or 5K run/fun walk.
