Race Day Overview
Check-In & Late Registration
5:00 PM - 6:25 PM | Race Headquarters (1980 Metro Ct SW, Wyoming, MI 49519)
Visit the registration tent from 5:00 PM - 6:25 PM on race day to pick up your bib & t-shirt* or register for the event. Event Day Registration Cost: $40.00 (exact cash or major credit card).
*Race shirts guaranteed to participants who register before July 3, 2024. Additional shirts be available while supplies last, on a first come basis.

5:00 PM - 8:00 PM | Metro Way 5K photo opportunity, sponsors, and food tent!
6:30 PM | Metro Way 5K Race Start
7:15 PM | Awards Ceremony
Awards will be presented to the first person who crosses the finish line for the following categories:
- Top Male Finisher - Open
- Top Female Finisher - Open
- Top Male Finisher - Masters (40 & up)
- Top Female Finisher - Masters (40 & up)
The top three finishers for men and women in each age group will receive prizes. Runners must be present at the Awards Ceremony to receive an Age Group Award. Age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & up.
All registered 5K finishers receive a finisher's medal.
PHOTOGRAPHY NOTICE: A photographer will be taking photos at this event. If you do not consent to having your image captured and posted to UM Health-West’s social media, website or other promotional platforms, please inform both the photographer and a volunteer at the welcome table.
Description
The Metro Way 5K & YMCA Youth Races presented by LMCU is a family-friendly event that exemplifies our enduring commitment to West Michigan. Even the name of the event, honoring our organization’s previous name, reflects our legacy of making a lasting difference in the health of our communities.
Funds raised through the Metro Way 5K support the University of Michigan Health-West's community health and wellness programs, which connect people with free and low-cost health screenings and services, fitness classes and education. Your participation helps patients and their families cope with chronic illness, teach healthy habits and promote safety.
