Is the event timed? How does chip-timing work?
Yes—this is a chip-timed 5K for those who want the timing component. The bib you receive includes a chip which records your start and finish time so your official results will be posted.

How/when do results post?
Results will be posted on the RunSignUp site shortly after the finish. You’ll be able to view your official chip time and overall place by bib number. Awards will be recognized at the closing ceremony.

Is there an awards ceremony? What are the award categories?
Yes—we will present awards for overall top finisher and top finisher in each age group. Awards will be announced at approximately 9:30AM. All participants are winners in supporting the cause.

What time should I arrive on race day?
Packet pick-up will start at 7:00AM. If you pick up your packet before race day, lace up your shoes and be ready for go time at 8:00AM.

How and where do I pick up my race packet (bib, T-shirt, etc.)?

• Early Packet Pick-Up: On Tuesday (Feb 3) & Wednesday (Feb 4) at Spero Financial (100 Hanna Crossing, Anderson, SC) from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM.

• Day-of Pick-Up: Starting at 7:00 AM at the Abney Athletic Center on race day.
  Your packet includes your chip-timed bib, race day sticker, T-shirt (if you registered by Jan 11; after that while supplies last) and other goodies.

What happens if I can't run but still want to participate?
We welcome walkers and cheer squads! Whether you walk or run, you’re supporting a great cause. If you prefer to come just to cheer, you’re also more than welcome—come join the community spirit and stay for the post-event ceremony.

What cause does the event support?
Proceeds benefit Play4Kay (part of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund) which provides life-saving cancer research grants impacting women. The event is hosted in partnership with Anderson University and AnMed Health.

Can I run/walk on behalf of someone or in memory/honor of someone?
Absolutely! You’re encouraged to run or walk in honor or memory of a loved one impacted by cancer. You may submit their name/photo/story online ahead of the event so they can be recognized during the ceremony. Submit it here.

Where is the event located and where do I park?
Location: Anderson University, Abney Athletic Center, 316 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
Parking: Please follow signage and volunteer directions on race morning for designated parking areas. More information can be found under the "Parking" tab.

What if it rains?
This event will be rain or shine. If severe weather (e.g., lightning, flooding) forces postponement or cancellation, we will communicate via email, race website and social media. Please plan accordingly and check your email/race page on race morning.

Is there a refund policy for this race?
There is no refund policy. In the event you choose not to participate or the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, all proceeds will be donated to Play4Kay.

Is there age restrictions for this race?
We have no age restrictions; however, we do ask for a parent or guardian signature on all minors under 18 years of age.

Are childrened allowed to participate? Do I need to pay for a child riding in a stroller?
Children are welcome and encouraged—walking or running with you is great. For safety and manageability, if bringing a stroller, please start at the back and be aware of other participants. You do not need to pay for a child riding in a stroller.

Will there be refreshments and water stations?
We will have two water stops on the 5K course. We will also have light post-race snacks by the finish line.

Are dogs allowed?
Only service animals are allowed for participant safety reasons.
